Your full-day tour begins at 8am when your guide picks you up from your Aqaba Hotel. Admire theamazing cliffs and gorges cutting through the landscape before reaching Kerakand its fortress, builtbetween 1110 and 1143 B.C. during the Crusades. Kerak City is set on a triangular plateau which rises900 meters above sea level, surrounded by ancient walls forming the old city. Its castle, which forms theSouth Summit of the city, was built by the Crusaders after they took the city in the twelfth century A.D.Kerak city reached its historical peak during the Crusaders period when it was named the Desert Jewel.Prior to occupation by the Crusaders, Kerak Castle was a station for the Archbishop and it held theNazareth Church. The castle came under Muslim rule in the year of 1187 A.D. when Saladin sieged KerakCastle; however, it did not surrender until 1189 A.D. Shortly after the Crusaders were expelled and Kerakcame under the Mamluks and Ottomans period. The castle was abandoned after the First World Warand is now considered a very important cultural site and ruins that should not be missed. On your returnto Amman you will stop for lunch at your own expense.

7:00 - 9:00 Meeting and introduction

You will meet our driver at the hotel lobby between 7 a.m–9 a.m (your exact timing will be provided by
the support team, one day before the tour) after the entail greetings, you start your journey toward
kerak about 3hrs drive.

11:00 - 15:0 0 kerak
